Krasnoyarsk became one of the first cities beyond the Urals, where modern electric transport began to operate in harsh climatic conditions. BKM Holding manufactured 11 electric buses model E321 of the Olgerd series and 3 pantograph-type charging stations for the needs of the city. The delivery was carried out through the dealer - Belrus company.

The vehicles were run-in and on 19 January started to transport passengers along the trolleybus route in test mode. Together with the residents the governor of the Krasnoyarsk region Mikhail Kotyukov and the mayor of the city Vladislav Loginov evaluated the possibilities of the new transport.

It is worth noting that electric buses can withstand temperatures from - 40 to + 40 degrees centigrade. Passenger capacity is up to 80 people. The passenger compartment has 31 seats. Autonomous range is up to 50 kilometres. The transport is equipped with GLONASS system, LED boards, video surveillance and climate control systems, satellite navigation, Wi-Fi and USB-connectors, as well as equipment for transporting passengers with low mobility. The electric bus has special seats for them. In addition, when approaching a stop, the side of the vehicle tilts to make it easier to enter with a pram.

The charging stations are also of BKM Holding's own production. The capacity of each is 300 kW and the charging time is no more than 25 minutes.

Vehicles tests will be completed in February 2024, after that the electric buses will go on an independent route, the length of which will be 22.9 kilometres. It is planned that electric buses will move from one side of the city to the other over Oktyabrsky Bridge.

By the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk in 2028 the regional authorities plan to make all municipal transport ecologically sound.
