The first separately located ultrafast charging complex for electric vehicles in the CIS opened in Minsk in the Brilevichi residential district at 6 Napoleon Orda Street. It combines a charging point for electric cars with a new type of stations, a charging post for electric buses, an accumulation system, a dynamic power distribution module, and an autonomous shop.
Eight charging stations for electric vehicles have been installed in the ultrafast charging complex: seven with a capacity of 100 kW and one ultrafast station with a capacity of 350 kW. These stations are equipped with European standard connectors: CCS Combo2 and CHAdeMO.
They will be able to simultaneously charge 8 electric cars, and by means of ultrafast charging owners of electric cars will be able to charge their cars in 10 minutes for a range up to 300 km.
A pantograph-type charging station for electric buses has been installed on site, with the charging module having priority: when a vehicle is connected to it, it will be able to deliver at least 350 kW of power. The remaining 350 kW of power is shared between the remaining 8 charging modules for electric vehicles in proportion to the power they have requested, according to the residual principle.
The electric energy storage system makes it possible to store energy and reduces the load on the grid during peak times. The storage system, control automation and software of the complex were developed in Belarus. In particular, the charging infrastructure control software was developed by Belorusneft, and the dynamic power distribution control software was developed by BKM Holding.
The superfast charging complex’s feature is an autonomous shop, which operates on the Amazon Go principle. No lines, no checkout – just grab and go.
Unique for Belarus and the neighboring countries, the charging complex will allow simultaneous servicing of electric buses and electric cars, and the entire process will take no more time than at a regular gas station.
