The first electric truck manufactured by BKM Holding — Vitovt Truck Electro Prime — was unveiled to the public a year ago.
Since then, the prototype has passed all the necessary tests and relevant certification procedures, received safety certificate and currently is allowed to drive on public roads.
Many people have already been able to see the latest development of BKM Holding with their own eyes. The electric truck took part in many exhibitions in 2022: Belagro, SPbTransportFest in St. Petersburg, Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Grodno, Mechanical Engineer's Day in Gomel, E-trans exhibition, exhibition at the National Library timed for the 955th anniversary of Minsk and exhibition near the Mound of Glory on Independence Day.
The electric truck can carry a load of up to 7.8 tones, for example, it can drive the distance from Minsk to Mogilev at 90 km/h without recharging. It has a range of up to 200 km. The availability of a braking energy recovery system helps to reduce energy consumption and increases electric drive efficiency.
The present version of the electric truck is equipped with a truck body (44 cubic meters). The asynchronous traction motor is the heart of the 180-kW electric truck. Average power consumption is 1.1 kW / h. CCS Combo2 also features two charging outlets. Full charging time in this mode is 90 minutes.
The electric filling, as in the case of electric buses, is own production of BKM Holding: inverters, DC converters, electrical circuit protection and control units. The software is also in-house development.
The main purpose of this type of transport is to deliver goods from the logistics center to hypermarkets. Large carriers and retail chains will be potential customers. A pilot project with one of the chain retailers in Belarus is under consideration.
Nearly a fifth of the world's CO2 emissions come from commercial vehicles, many of which are used to deliver goods. Advanced trucking concepts can help keep the planet healthy.
